Anyone know how to refinish the black stock wheel lugs on a 993? Mine have a number of large paint chips on the face presumably due to harsh use of a socket or lug tool during wheel removal. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. 97 C2

Just a suggestion: I always sand down my lug nuts as soon as they start showing signs of wear. Then I follow it up with a polishing rag for shiney tops. The aluminum never rusts or wears so you get a great look that will never again degrade due to use.

Hi:
These were orginally black, hard-anodized from the factory and that's how we restore them to new.
Its the only way to go, IMHO.

Thanks Steve. I wonder what kind of shop can do hard-anodizing for me? I'll start searching but, if in the meantime you can help me in this endeavour, it would be appreciated. Also, the shiny trick sounds like a good alternative if I have no luck with the black.
