My 1996 993 has a "shimmy" - steerling wheel wobbles left and right at moderate speeds (50 mph). Dealer told me it was alignment and tires. So, bought new tires and new alignment. After about 1,000 miles, the shimmy is back. Anyone experience this? Maybe suspension related?

The only light I can shed on this problem is, personally, my car shimmies for about five minutes. After that, everything seems OK. In my case, I think that it has to do with slight flat-spotting due to the fact that the car is only out about once per week and the cooler weather these days is probably delaying tire warm up. franklin '98 C2

I have a 96/993 C4 with the same symptom (shimmy at about 50ish).
I was also getting a little shimmy on braking so I had the lateral runout checked and replaced rotors/pads, etc fixed the shimmy at braking but the shimmy at 50ish still remains...
