Hi Joe:
I had this problem occur once in a corner and again coming to an idle at a stop.
In my case, the car, 1997 C2, has had a sport clutch kit installed with a low mass flywheel which I think was a factory kit. The low mass flywheel has noticeable performance improvement but would definitely contribute to engine stall under certain conditions, especially when the clutch is depressed while the engine is at a relatively high RPM level. The RPM rate drops so rapidly that with a low mass flywheel, might continue to drop low enough that the engine stalls if revs are not brought back up for a new gear. If conditions were extreme enough, the same thing might happen even if the clutch/flywheel was standard issue. I find that if I just watch the RPMs are not too high at the time I dump the clutch and/or catch the RPMs before they bottom out, the problem doesn't repeat . Franklin
