I want to pick the brains on those few lucky ones who have driven both. I'm particularly interested in the differences between the two cars in terms of handling and driving dynamics, especially in spirited driving situation like on a track. I would tend to think the 993 would be more docile as its rear suspension is an evolution of the 964 model. So relatively speaking, the RS America would like to throw its tail end out during high speed cornering and seems to be less stable. Well, of course, that would probably turn into an advantage in the hands of the skilled drivers :-) Personally, I have never driven a P-car before. Can someone tell me how does it feel or handle in corners versus a more traditional layout like front engine-rear wheel drive or even mid engine setup. TIA.

Hi !
this is my first post on this forum. You have to know that what makes a Porsche different from another car is the weigth repartition. Once you have understand that, you can drive the car the rigth way. Before turning you have to brake hard and to decelerate progressively until the middle of the turn. This way, you have weigth on the front axle and that's easier to turn, then you have to wait to have wheels in the axle to accelerate. With a four wheel driven car you can accelerate earlier. If I had to choose between A RS America and a 993C2, I would take the 993C2 ! Have a good day Yann

So tell me about the 993 monikor as the "doctor killer." Not being a doctor I don't give a shit but is it that difficult to get the handle on driving these cars hard - I have acess to a great deal and can't pull the trigger on a 97 993 C@? Should I?

Not difficult at all fish. Just go to some PCA DEs to learn in the right atmosphere.

I’ve owned both a 1993 RS America and a 1997 C2S. Personally I rue the day I sold the RS in favor of the C2s. Not that the c2s was a bad car. Its much more refined then the RS its just lacks that on edge feel that the RS had. For daily driver the c2s was clearly a better car, plush leather nice sound system. But I have to say the 18 inch wheels get to be a drag and the P zeros are loud. You’ll know when you roll over a dime in the road, and you’d better hope the pavement is not grooved from use with the 18’s. The RS on the other hand is pure fun. Its not lost that on the edge feel that seems to be gone in the c2s. Of course the 1994 Speedster that I had which was stolen was the best of the lot for pure off track driving fun.

i wonder if the guy with the 97 c2s had suspension upgrades? (which means a stiffer/bumpier ride) my stock 98 c2s suspension rides smooth. my friend has a rs america and it rides like a race car. performance is equal but the c2s has a more luxurious feel. i'd go without a doubt with the c2s but i'm a bit partial.
