Robin I wrote recently about installing an aux amp in my '95 993. I need to string the power directly from the battery to the amp under the pass seat. Due you have clue where I could run this line through the fire wall; left or right. I looked on both sides of the cowel blower box where the hood struts are located and could see nothing that looked like other OEM wiring went through. I do not want to drill any where unless I absolutely have to. Taking the power any where else is causing plug /alt noise in the rear speakers. Any suggestions?

Check out the link below. They show how to connect an amp (under the seat) and how to wire it up. They also have other installation tip. www.caraudioinnovations.com/tips.htmChuck '96 993

Teske, This may be too late to be of any help...I have put an amp under the passenger seat without any issues. I put in a Helix HXA400 which I'm using to drive a 3-way DynAudio component system in the doors. The fit is great, the sound is even better. My next step is to replace the speakers in the rear panels and install a sub this winter. I'm still trying to find the best way to put a sub in the car without compromising the interior of the car in regards to appearance & useability - it's a challenge. Regards

Rfairwea, Could you enlighten me as to the model Dynaudio driver's you're using in the front doors to the 993. I presume the starting piont is from the factory HiFi set up; 3 drivers in each door. I'm working on enhancing the performance of the factory HiFi (490) by adding/replacing a few components. My current thoughts, no pun intended, are driver replacment, adding a fixed EQ and clean appropreate headroom amplification. Keeping the interior absolutly stock is essential for my taste and I'd like to continue the use of the OEM CD radio too if possible. Any BTDT in the group? Additionally, has anyone used the fixed parametric by a company, Audio Control?
Thanks, Mike '98 2S

Mike, I ended up putting in a DynAudio System 340 in the front doors - outside of some minor adjustments for the tweeters, there was no modification required. My car already had an aftermarket head unit installed which was junk - I replaced it with a Sony CDX-X90. It's a very clean install and doesn't look like something tacked in after the thought. My next step is going to be to replace the rear speakers - probably will use DynAudio again but not sure which ones. The System 220mkII is a great set but the drivers are just a bit too large to fit so I may end up just using the MD140 and one of their tweeters (I think the part number is MW100). I just finished building a prototype sub box that fits cleanly under the passenger seat - ended up with an internal volume of about .4 cu ft. I'm going to do some testing over the next several weeks with various subs (either an 8" or a 10" with some polyfill) to see what sounds the best. Also going to have to add an amp and find where to hide it. Check out www.theautophile.com - the guy who runs the place, Peter Lufrano, is a real class act and willing to help out with great advice. Keep me posted on how you proceed - I'll try to do the same. Rick.
