Just another jewel from the CFG 996TT forum titled as described in my subject line! Go read it! Then judge my response written here!
Very long but worth it! Worth it? So true asshole. Worth it in the sense that your sorry ass is gone! Check with your dealer and see if you can order a dildo gadget for your wife's seat too! Oh, yea! Almost forgot! Happy New Year Robin! WTF are you?

So, what's the big deal? The moron is going from one boring car to another. Clearly, he's all over the place and has no idea what he wants. He'll probably find the ultimate one soon...

El Pope, Point is I was silly enough to read that shit. Wheel waxers & Pussies were far more entertaining! Now who wants to run the Big Oval @ Las Vegas? One hundred miles total, two sessions & fifty miles under the lights! EJ,you can't say no to that offer!
Question for the experts. What shoes to buy for the Ruf? Best DOT tire for the banked oval?

Maybe the bad weather, long gray winters got to him...poor guy. I drive by the Daimler-Chrysler HQ in Stuttgart every morning and see those cool Mercedes roadsters they spit out of the factory south of town in Sindelfingen...and smile knowing everyone of them had its engine speed limited to 155 mph. Daimler Chrysler and BMW do this out of civic duty--no German law requires it. Porsche builds sports cars--the rev limiter prevents engine damage but doesn't neuter the car.

I am cautioned by experts who say don't do it for open road racing! So I have to hang with the P Zero tires that have served me so well! For the LV oval I am not able determine if the rolling footprint is exactly the same front & rear. Viscous coupling thoughts drive me to ask questions. So I ask you El Pope! Always get god data!
Many thanks,
R

I still don't understand what the problem with the Michelin is. But, if you want to stick with the P-Zero, there should be no diameter issues as they are Porsche specific tires.

No issues with Pirelli for sure! I know they hold up for 100 mile stretches of high speed driving. Much experience for many players with P Zero. Also no issues with rolling footprint, front & rear remain the same thus viscous coupling has held up very well. I am cautionedabout the michelin tire because we can not secure factory test data relating to the intended use. Pirelli supplied such data long ago! Pilot Sport might be a good choice for two fifty mile runs on the Las Vegas big oval but I would like to know about tolerances in producton as they relate to rolling footprint. I am also curious about "tire growth at speed" which seems to be negligible with the Pirelli! When we run nitrogen inflated Pirellile, the tach,GPS and time/distance all agree with calcuated data. Observations match predictions! HTF can we talk to Michelin?

If you don't find an answer there, you can call the 800 number on that page which is 800-847-3435 and ask to talk with an engineer specializing in racing tires.

One hundred miles total, two sessions & fifty miles under the lights! EJ,you can't say no to that offer! R - cant make it, but you'll have a blast. That oval is perfect your car. I have driven around there in a Petty Driving Experience ARCA car; pretty fast - 170 - without any problems. Let us know how it goes. Can you run oval slick tires? If so, I can probably point you to some people. E. J.

Thank's for the pointers! Still wondering about footprint though! Michelin says 25.x"( static) tall but has a rolling footprint spec'd @ 45 MPH that does not compute! If 25.x times Pi etc = C, why does the turns per mile differ at 45 MPH? Maybe I am being too cautious? I know Ruf ran 220 MPH on them recently in the "Yellow Car" with RWD and 50 PSI! Yikes! Thank you my friends! PS Still going to run Pirelli for the long fast open road. Why fuck with fate? My tire temp varation from tire to tire is maximum 2 degrees F (L/R tire) after ninety miles at 170 + average speed! Wish I had some German road to play on and test!
Keep having fun! R
